If you follow me on Instagram, you may know that my beloved cat recently passed away. She was my fur baby, my best friend and I miss her tremendously. I didn't intend to take time off blogging, but it naturally happened as I didn't feel like talking about beauty products. Due to recent events I've combined all the items in one post and keeping this review "short and sweet", but more image heavy instead. I'm letting the beauty of the products speak from themselves. Thank you for many comments and condolences on IG and I apologise for my late replies. The Spring is finally coming in Finland and little by little, things are getting easier.
The SUQQU UK team kindly and generously sent me a sneak peek of the UK Exclusive Summer collection designed by the talented Jorge Balzaretti. If you're not familiar with his work I highly recommend you check out his homepage and Instagram (get ready to be amazed)! Usually I like to review products individually, but due the high demand of SUQQU UK exclusive collections I'll share more compact reviews of all of the items, including a couple of make up looks.
SUQQU UK Exclusive SS17
The UK Exclusive collection designed by Jorge Balzaretti consists of two Extra Glow lipsticks, two Designing Color Eyes palettes and one Pure Color blush. Jorge says his inspiration was the jungle and tropical beaches of South of Japan. In his words, the collection will give a sensual, unpredictable look with sun-kissed cheeks and chic eyes and lips. I couldn't agree less! Release date 27th of April in Selfridges, followed by Harrods and Fenwicks. I recommend emailing SUQQU for mail order and international purchases if you can't access a counter. Please check out more info on the SUQQU atelier tumblr page or try contacting them directly email@example.com.
SUQQU Designing Color Eyes #103 Kisui
Just look at that. Doesn't this palette speak Spring and Summer to you? This palette combines elegance of emerald greens with luxurious gold and playful yellow. Think about sunlight in the jungle or blue ocean waves. To be honest, I don't think I've ever worn green eyeshadow and I was a little intimidated, but as before - Jorge's color palette combines SUQQU elegance in an original, wearable way. After SUQQU's eyeshadow revamp, many missed the matte shades and I'm delighted there is variety in Kisui. Not tremendously - the shimmers are not as multicolored and complex as you had in some older SUQQU quads, but there's still beauty and diversity in the layering of colors. And above all these shades are pigmented, smooth and very blendable. Read more about my thoughts on the new formula my earlier 05 Aoshizuku review.
103 Kisui swatches
- a light matte Spring yellow
- medium, a bit patinated gold
- deep ocean blue green
- cool jungle green with golden shimmer
- (layered) patinated bronze-y green
SUQQU Designing Color Eyes #104 Natsusango
Natsusango is the Summer palette I'm going to rock! SUQQU calls this one the "terracotta" palette, but there's so much more to it than the fantastic burnt orange terracotta shade. The color combination makes this one both bold and subtle, and yes - the shades pack a punch. Beautiful pigmentation, so smooth to touch without unnecessary kickback or fallout. Mattes, reds and blacks seem to be notorious to formulate in the world of eyeshadows and I'm glad to say Natsusango stands out with both its beauty and its performance. Combined these shades bring out the famous SUQQU complexity as the result is far from muddy mess. I love to contour my hooded lids with the terracotta shade and apply black as a liner in the lash line for an easy, everyday look.
104 Natsusango Swatches
- creamy pinky white with faint shimmer
- pale pink glitter topcoat
- matte, cool ivory black
- medium reddish terracotta
- (layered) pinky-grey taupe with purple undertones
Pure Color Blush #102 Tsuyakagerou
When I saw the sneak peeks of Tsuyakagerou blush I wasn't sure what to expect - is it a blush? Is it a bronzer? On my complexion it's most definitely a blush and a gorgeous one indeed. I expected the neutral brown shade to tone down the blush, but instead it works as a beautiful blending shade to make the skin glowing and healthy. Tsuyakagerou is one of the most original blushes I've seen, theres nothing like it in my make up stash. Healthy, vibrant, perfect amount of peach and orange to be blended. You'll see in the images below how my skin has this sun-kissed healthy glow without chunky glitters, turning ashy or orange. Best of all, you can adjust the amount of warmth as the brown alone isn't too orange. If you're umming and ahhing about should you get this blush I say go for it - especially if you're on the pale side like I am.
102 Tsuyakagerou swatches
- beautiful warm-neutral light brown
- light terracotta orange with peachy undertones
- (blended together) sun-kissed peachy orange
SUQQU Extra Glow Lipsticks #104 Tsuyazakuro #105 Hamadaidai
From all the items in this collection I think I'm most obsessed with #105 Hamadaidai. I've never felt as drawn to a coral lipstick before - I'm more pink or pinky red kind of a gal. In fact, I don't think I've recently worn any lip color as frequently as I've worn Hamadaidai. It has the perfect balance, a pop of color without being overly bright, but brings your look to a completely new level. Tsuyazakuro on the other hand brightens up my face, makes teeth look whiter and is cool enough to have a nice impact. Both are perfect for the Summer! They're also very pigmented, but you can sheer out the lip color by just dabbing the lipstick to your lips. I don't think these lipsticks work as a stain as the finish is on the creamy side, needing re-applying from time to time. There's a chance you'll get some on your teeth, but otherwise these wear very nicely during the day, leaving the lips feeling moisturised.
- Tsuyazakuro: cool pomegranate pink with fuchsia undertones
- Hamadaidai: bright, warm coral

SUQQU is consistent with its excellent quality and if you've read any of my other reviews or even remotely familiar with the formula you won't be disappointed. For me, this SUQQU collection is not to be missed. Again Jorge's eye for color blows me a way, bringing us a beautiful, sun-kissed looks for any occasion in the Spring/Summer season. If I had to pick two, I'd go for the Hamadaidai lipstick and Tsuyakagerou blush. Although I love the eyeshadow palettes, these two picks are so unique, perfect for my skin tone and multi-purpose for everyday wear I can't stop reaching for them. They've brighten up my mood when the times have been dark.
